Commercial Lighting Installation Services
Unlike home lighting, commercial lighting is often designed for durability and purpose—like surgical lighting or task lighting. This category also includes signage lighting, exterior lighting control systems, and emergency lighting. Commercial lighting is usually used in business spaces like offices, medical facilities, stores, and warehouses.
Commercial lighting usually includes six main types:
- Incandescent - This type of lighting provides warm tones, comes in a range of sizes, and is inexpensive to replace. Out of all six options, it is the least energy-efficient.
- Induction - These bulbs are very reliable and are perfect for 24/7 use. They can be more costly, and their lower output requires the use of extra bulbs for sufficient lighting.
- Halogen - Ideal for task lighting, halogen bulbs use 25% less electricity than incandescent bulbs. They do get extremely hot and are a bit more of an investment.
- Fluorescent - This is an extremely popular option for commercial spaces, as fluorescent lighting is energy efficient and has a longer lifespan. However, it can distort colors and requires regular replacement to avoid dimming.
- Metal halide - This is another popular option for task lighting, as it provides a high quality of light. These bulbs do require a “warm up” period and aren’t as energy efficient as some of the other options.
- LED - This form of lighting can be up to 80% more energy efficient than fluorescent lights. It is the leading choice (and our favorite) for energy efficiency, quality of light, and cost.
